Overall
The Umbro Speciali fg soccer cleat is a soccer soccer boot that often gets remarks from it’s admirers with the phrase “it fit’s like a glove” and when you are playing 90 minutes of soccer that’s a phrase you want to be known for. Often compared to the adidas Copa Mundial and the Diadora Brasil cleats, the Speciali is a no frills looking soccer shoe but it delivers in the overall feel and the extended amount of time you will be wearing it for more soccer seasons then most cleats due to the quality craftsmanship that made the shoe.
Style
The Speciali won’t win any awards for it’s look and to be honest the one drawback this cleat has it the huge looking Umbro logo on the outside of the shoe, but to be honest it’s not a fashion show on the soccer pitch. The very soft Kangaroo leather will make your feet very comfortable the entire game and the Conformax sock liner keeps feet dry so it the sky breaks with a downpour during your match you can rest assured you will be able keep plugging away as other players complain they are uncomfortable in their lesser made cleat.
Durability
Soccer is a long game and with non stop action you will need to rely on your cleat to provide support throughout the match and you’ll get that with the Memory Flex reinforced bar running the length of the shoe. This provides support and rigidity around the heel and arch while enhancing flexibility at the ball of the foot which is important and you continue to put stress on your cleat, but don’t worry the Speciali won’t quit on you just as you won’t quit on your teammates.
This is by far the best cleat I have ever played in. Ive played soccer my whole life and have tryed Nike vapors, total 90’s, adidas, and pumas. Nothing compares to these Umbro Speciali’s. They will last forever and will NOT give you blisters like the vapors do.
Performance
One complaint soccer players have with their cleats is that it doesn’t feel as good during mid-season as they felt during the first match, well you don’t have to worry about that with the Umbro Speciali PU. The shoe’s weight is 10 oz., a little but heavier then newer shoes on the shelves today, but when you are paying top dollar for cleats you want a shoe that lasts all season and feels good. What good is it when that 6 oz. lightweight cleat falls apart after 6 games and you paid $200 for it? The Speciali passes all of our tests for a firm natural surface cleat and we are sure you will continue to purchase this shoe as soon as you need new cleats due to foot growth and not due to the shoe falling apart on you like others have done to you in the past.
